6/26/18 | Moving Across Casper!

This week has been another great one as always!  Even though there were some super tough spots, it is always an amazing week serving Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ!  Last Saturday we found out about transfers, and I’m actually getting transferred!  Crazy right!?  I was only in the Casper 9th Ward for a transfer, but I know that the people we found to teach were meant to be found by us, and they will be “harvested” by other missionaries!  I will be going just across Casper to the Casper 6th Ward and my new companion is Elder Williamson!  It was pretty ironic, because we have been living with them for this past transfer, so I don’t have to move anything!  Blessings!  I am sad that I only got to spend one transfer with Elder Trumbo (he is headed down to Longmont Colorado), but that’s okay because I know that Heavenly Father needs me to be in the Casper 6th Ward next transfer, and it will be great because I’m already good friends with Elder Williamson!  We can’t wait to hit the ground running this Wednesday!!  Another twist to this next transfer is that I am now going to be in a biking area!  This is the first one of my mission!  I’ve been so blessed to have a car, but now it is time to get to work!  Elder Williamson and I aren’t going to worry about biking around, we are going to spend every day on foot!  It will be super amazing!  This will push me until the very end, and I’m so excited that Heavenly Father has blessed me to be in a biking area now!  Can’t wait for this next transfer!
Honestly we did have an amazing week!  We were out Street Contacting Wednesday night and we were talking to a lot of people, it was so awesome!  At about 8:40 we were walking towards a park and saw an older man playing fetch with his dog.  We walked up to him and introduced ourselves.  He said he had spoken with us two night previous on Monday night of last week, and then we finally remembered who he was!  I don’t know if I mentioned this in my last weekly email, but we ran into a man Street Contacting two Monday’s ago, and ran into an older guy with his dog in front of his house.  He said we could come back, so we wrote down his address.  This was the same guy, and this time we got his name!  His name is Ray.  We got to know him better, and he told us that his dad was a member of the church, but was very less active and never really attended.  Ray wasn’t raised in the church, but now he was interested in learning more and coming closer to God!  We set an appointment with him for the following Friday!  We showed up for the appointment, and he welcomed into his house.  We talked for a bit, then we started with a prayer.  We went over the “How To Begin Teaching” points, and then taught him lesson one, The Restoration!  He understood it very well, and it was a great lesson!  He asked a bunch of questions, about The Book Of Mormon, and about prophets.  The Spirit was so strong as we taught him!  After we finished the lesson, Ray said that he felt something different when we were teaching him, and we were able to explain that the feeling he felt was the Holy Ghost testifying of the truthfulness of our message!  Ray told us how much he wanted to be closer to God in his life, and that he felt like he needed something more in his life.  We invited Ray to read The Book Of Mormon, and promised him that he will feel more peace and joy in his life, and will be able to feel that same Spirit he felt as we shared our message with him!  Man was the Spirit strong as we testified of the truth!  Truly incredible!  He said he was planning on coming to church and a fireside on Sunday, but got sick and couldn’t attend last minute.  Because he got sick we missed our appointment with him yesterday, so we scheduled one for this Thursday!  I’m planning on going over with the new elders replacing Elder Trumbo and I and passing him off to them, so it should be amazing!  Ray is absolutely GOLDEN! I can’t wait to watch him progress towards baptism, it will be such a huge blessing to see that!  I love being a missionary!!! :)
One of my really good friends, Elder McFadden, headed home this past Saturday!  So crazy he finished his mission!  He was serving in Riverton, so he came down and we were able to go out to dinner with him before he left!  Sad he’s leaving, but he’s been a great example to me!  Crazy, a mission is truly full of goodbyes......... so crazy!  I also got to talk to one of my past companions, Elder Hatch, before he left!  All of my homies are dropping like flies!  Especially next transfer, all of them will be gone almost, so crazy, the mission is truly an amazing place where you meet some incredible people!  I know I was supposed to serve here!
Actually right before Ray’s lesson last Friday, we had a teaching appointment with Dani!  She was the girl I told you about last week that we went to see and she said she has been reading The Book Of Mormon quite a bit, and got “sucked in!”  Amazing!  We were able to go over the “How To Begin Teaching” points with her as well, and we taught her The Restoration!  Amazing!  She listened intently, and there was a sweet Spirit about the lesson!  After the lesson she asked us “do you have a church nearby?” We told here yes and that it was literally a minute drive from her house!  We told her the times and invited her to come!  We also invited her to continue to read and pray to know The Book Of Mormon is true, and to know Joseph Smith is a prophet of God!  She seems super interested as well, so we can’t wait to see how she progresses! It will be so amazing to see that!  I love being led to people, seeing their progression, and being that instrument in Heavenly Father’s hands to reach out to “the one!” I love being “On the Lord’s Errand!”  And I truly hope and pray that I can continue to develop my abilities of listening and heeding upon the Spirit for the rest of my life!!!  Amazing!
A member in the Casper 6th Ward offered to remove all of our warts, (haha yes I know I’m gross......), so this past Saturday he did!  What a miracle!  Over the course of my mission, I have gotten some warts from companions of mine (thanks Elder Gentry.....haha:) which is weird because I’ve gone my entire life without a single one, until my mission!  Anyways, the member removed them all and it was awesome!  What a Christlike member!  I love members of the church, everywhere you go, there are amazing members everywhere!  Every single area of my mission, there have been amazing members!  I’m grateful for what The Gospel Of Jesus Christ can do for us, it literally changes us to become more like our Savior Jesus Christ!  What a blessing!  If you want to be more like Him, follow and live His Gospel!  You will see a huge difference as you do, and I’m sure many of you have seen and felt a huge difference!  There are countless examples in my life, my parents, siblings, grandparents (all of them :), aunts and uncles, cousins, and some of my closest friends, who are truly living The Gospel Of Jesus Christ, and you can literally see the difference!  I’m grateful for this true living Gospel that a loving Heavenly Father has provided!  I hope it is making a difference in me to become more like Jesus Christ, my Savior!
On Saturday, we saw a sign to a garage sale, so we wanted to go see if we could talk to the people about the Gospel!  (Garage Sale = People outside to speak with!) Right as we got there, it started to rain like crazy!  They were rushing to put stuff back into their garage from the driveway, so we rushed and helped them put all of the stuff into the garage!  They were so thankful, not interested in our message, but we were able to demonstrate Christlike service to them!  I love random acts of service!!
Yesterday, our Elders Quorum President, Brother Jorgensen, was going to come to our lesson with Dani.  He came, but Dani wasn’t home.  So we went out and did visits with him for the rest of the night!  It was amazing!  We reached out to many people, that he had in mind, some that we had in mind, and it was super effective!  We invited all of them to the Elders Quorum BBQ this Thursday and to church!  Brother Jorgensen at every house was lovingly bold, and never offended anyone, because he was honestly almost perfect at being lovingly bold!  It blew my mind!  I definitely need to work on being lovingly bold, and straight forward to people in order to help them out!  It was an amazing sight to see, and to see how well it worked too!  Amazing!
In my studies this past week, I read Alma 50:1-10, and it was incredible!  It says,

1 And now it came to pass that Moroni did not stop making preparations for war, or to defend his people against the Lamanites; for he caused that his armies should commence in the commencement of the twentieth year of the reign of the judges, that they should commence in digging up heaps of earth round about all the cities, throughout all the land which was possessed by the Nephites.
2 And upon the top of these ridges of earth he caused that there should be timbers, yea, works of timbers built up to the height of a man, round about the cities.
3 And he caused that upon those works of timbers there should be a frame of pickets built upon the timbers round about; and they were strong and high.
4 And he caused towers to be erected that overlooked those works of pickets, and he caused places of security to be built upon those towers, that the stones and the arrows of the Lamanites could not hurt them.
5 And they were prepared that they could cast stones from the top thereof, according to their pleasure and their strength, and slay him who should attempt to approach near the walls of the city.
6 Thus Moroni did prepare strongholds against the coming of their enemies, round about every city in all the land.
7 And it came to pass that Moroni caused that his armies should go forth into the east wilderness; yea, and they went forth and drove all the Lamanites who were in the east wilderness into their own lands, which were south of the land of Zarahemla.
8 And the land of Nephi did run in a straight course from the east sea to the west.
9 And it came to pass that when Moroni had driven all the Lamanites out of the east wilderness, which was north of the lands of their own possessions, he caused that the inhabitants who were in the land of Zarahemla and in the land round about should go forth into the east wilderness, even to the borders by the seashore, and possess the land.
10 And he also placed armies on the south, in the borders of their possessions, and caused them to erect fortifications that they might secure their armies and their people from the hands of their enemies.

This is kind of a long one, but it is incredible!  Even though the fighting and war was over, Moroni never ceased and kept preparing!  I was thinking about it, and we have to do just that in our lives!  We have to constantly be making spiritual preparations each and every day in order to defend against the adversary!  Reading and praying daily are absolutely key for our our preparations, and attending church each Sunday, are the kinds of preparations we can make to make those fortifications to start strong and immovable!  As did Moroni, we need to make ourselves Spiritual Strongholds to be ready to fight and defend against Satan every single day!  We need to prepare now for those blessings to come!  I know that as each of us does these things each day, we will see a huge change in our lives!  It is easier to do the right thing always, than to do wrong things here and there!  Prepare now, and do so every single day!  I hope I can continue to do this now and throughout my entire life!  I hope you guys have wonderful week, I love you so much!  :)

Love,
Elder Bailey

6/19/18 | Happy Father's Day!!!

Happy Father’s Day to my amazing Dad!  I hope you had a great day Dad, and know that you’ve been such an amazing example to me in my life of a true Priesthood Man!  Thank you for all you have done for me, and all that you will do for me!  You are incredible, and honestly one of my best friends!  I am also so grateful that I not only have a loving earthly father, but also a loving Heavenly Father who placed me into the greatest home I could’ve asked for here on earth!  He is amazing, and I can’t ever thank Him enough for all the blessings He has given to me, how amazing!  I’m grateful for these two, and all of the other fathers I’ve been touched by in my life!  Thank you, all of you Fathers, for the example you give to those around you!  Well, let me tell you how our week went!!
Last Tuesday night, after the end of preparation day, we were going to go out and street contact!  We didn’t know where we were going to go, but we knew a general area where we wanted to walk.  So we started to drive over in the area, and we saw a lady on her porch.  Instantly we had the spiritual impression that we needed to talk with this woman.  We parked around the block, said a little prayer, and headed her way.  Her name was Dani, and we had a great discussion with her!  We introduced ourselves, and taught her about The Book Of Mormon.  She accepted a copy and we invited her to read it and pray to know if it is true!  She accepted and said she would!  Heavenly Father definitely sent us directly to her, I have no doubts.  She said we could come back in a week!  On exchanges yesterday with Elder Williamson, wee stopped by to talk with her and follow up with how her reading went.  She answered the door and we asked her how things were going.  She told us that she started reading and got “sucked in!”  No doubt that she has been feeling the Spirit while reading!  We asked if we could teach her more about where The Book Of Mormon came from, and she said that we could stop back tomorrow! How amazing is that!  We were so pumped!  Heavenly Father sent us to Dani, and we can’t wait to teach her!  I will definitely keep you posted on how that goes next Tuesday!  Man I love being a missionary!!!  (On that same night last Tuesday, we also felt prompted to knock on a specific door while walking around, and the lady accepted the copy of The Book Of Mormon, we will check with her sometime next week as well!  We also met this guy who said we could come back anytime to talk, so we had some good success that night!)
We were looking or a less active member referral we received from some other missionaries in Casper, and it didn’t have a specific apartment number, just a general building number, so we didn’t know which door to knock on.  It was a blessing that there were only four doors in this specific building, so we just decided to try all of them asking for this guy.  The first door we tried, was his house!  Small blessing!  We talked with his wife, and she said he works every day until 6:00, so to try back after then!  We didn’t think too much of finding this guys house so quickly, but honestly 30 seconds after we walked away from the door on the way back to our car, some other elders called and needed help with a random move that they just found out about.  We were able to go there immediately and help with the move!  It has been cool to see instances like this where everything just “works out” perfectly!  Heavenly Father definitely helps us out more than we know, we just have to recognize even the smallest of miracles to see the greater picture!  I love it!
This past Friday I had the chance to perform two baptismal interviews, one for Gary and the other one for Scott!  It is always such an amazing thing to perform these interviews, man you can feel the Spirit as these Investigators bare their testimonies!  It is so incredible!  After having the interview with Scott, he asked a question about how confirmation works, so we talked about it and he asked me if I could stand in the circle when he received The Gift of the Holy Ghost, what an opportunity!  That happened this past Sunday, and it was really cool to be a part of it!  I love the Gospel Of Jesus Christ with all of my heart!  Seeing people’s lives change, seeing the blessings that come as people dollar Jesus Christ’s Restored Gospel, is one of the most amazing things to participate in and witness!  Missions are incredible, and I’m enjoying each and every day!
Yesterday on exchanges with Elder Williamson, we were Tracting after we had Personal Study, and we knocked into this lady named Sam.  We introduced ourselves, and asked if we could share a message about Jesus Christ and where The Book Of Mormon came from, and she said we could right then!  So we taught her The Restoration on her doorstep, and it was amazing!  You could feel the Spirit, and she accepted a copy of The Book Of Mormon and we invited her to read it and pray to know if it is true!  She said we could come back in a week and a half!  Amazing!  We are seeing a bunch of good things happen here, and it is just going to get better!
In my studies this past week, I read Alma 43:45, it was amazing!  It states,

45 Nevertheless, the Nephites were inspired by a better cause, for they were not fighting for monarchy nor power but they were fighting for their homes and their liberties, their wives and their children, and their all, yea, for their rites of worship and their church.

The question that popped into my head as I read and pondered about this scripture was “Are we today fighting for a better cause like the Nephites were?”  Of course the answer is yes!!!  We will always have power to overcome temptation and the adversary as we live gospel principles, and follow the Gospel Of Jesus Christ and our living modern day prophets and apostles!  Heavenly Father will always help us as we fight for what is right.  That doesn’t mean times won’t be rough, but we will always make it through!  I love knowing that we do indeed have a loving Father in Heaven who know us each individually better than we know ourselves!  I’m grateful for Him and for all He has done for me in my life, including providing the Gift of His son, Jesus Christ, and the Gift of the Holy Ghost to help guide me on my journey!  I know that He hasn’t just provided this for me, but for each of you as well!  How amazing is this!!!  I hope you all have a great week, and never forget how much Heavenly Father loves you!!!

Love,
Elder Bailey

6/12/18 | Independence Rock!

Sorry my weekly email is coming out a little later in the day...... we just got back from our District P-Day at Martin’s Cove and Independence Rock!  It has been a long day so far, and pretty tiring, but it was fun!  This past week went pretty good!
Last Tuesday we were able to finally meet up with that guy we met on our no drive day last week!  We found him by the Library, and we met his girlfriend as well! We were able to get their address, and we tried them this past week, but they weren’t home!  We will try them again this week for sure!
We were trying to contact some referrals in Mills, WY, and they didn’t answer their door, but their neighbor was home, and we were able to talk to him as he was working on a car.  He said he had a belief in Jesus Christ, and we taught him about The Book Of Mormon, how it is another testament of Jesus Christ!  He ended up accepting a copy, and we invited him to read and pray to ask God to know if it is true!  He said he would take a look at it, and we set up another time to meet with him.  He wasn’t home when we had scheduled to meet, but we will contact him this week! Really amazing how Heavenly Father places people in our paths who are accepting to hear our message!  I love it!
We went on exchanges this past week, and I was able to be with Elder Clark!  He is from Mississippi, and he is such a stud!  We had a pretty good day, but one thing we encountered was very interesting!  While we were Tracting after dinner, a little boy past us on his bike and said “I feel bad for you guys.”  And he rode off leaving us a bit confused!  Haha we didn’t really know what to think about that, but about 10 minutes later, he came back up to us and said “The reason why I feel bad for you guys is because I am Baptist.”  Elder Clark said “Well, I used to be Baptist too!”  The boy looked at him and said “Really?? Why did you change?”  Then Elder Clark told him that two missionaries, like us, came and started teaching his family about The Book Of Mormon, and he found it to be true!  We asked the boy if we could come share that same message with his family, and he said sure!  We followed him to his house down the street a little ways, and we knocked on his door and spoke with his family.  They told us that they weren’t interested.  This boys family wasn’t interested in the Gospel, but we know that he knows that there is more than what he believes, there is the whole truth!  We hope someday he remembers the encounter he had with us and has a desire to learn more!  Really cool encounter, I’ve never had a 10 year old boy tell me he is sorry for me, haha!
I was on exchanges with Elder Mills the next day, and while we were Tracting and street contacting people, we saw a man with a beat up old truck and a trailer with lawn mowers on it.  We went over and started to talk with this man!  We introduced ourselves and the guy told us he knew who we were and he had read the Book Of Mormon a few times!  We asked if he needed any help and he said yes.  We continued to talk to him about what he believed while he was putting stuff away in the trailer.  He finished it, and put up the back ramp, and said very sarcastically “thanks for your help!!”  We didn't know how to help because he never told us what we could help him with..... anyways, we said we would love to help him, and he told us where he would be next.  We said we would be there, and the guy told us we wouldn’t show.  He said no one has ever been there for him, and that they always bail on him and never visit him because he lives in his truck.  We said we would love to help and visit him.  He was very mad at the world, but we were determined to help this guy no matter what!  We split ways and hustled back to the apartment to change.  We got permission from President to help this guy with the lawns, and we met him at the next house.  We showed up and started to walk to his car and he started to laugh and said “haha, I don’t believe it!? I thought you were liars!”  We said no sir, we are here to help you!  Immediately we saw this man’s heart soften.  He gave us some of his sandwich, and a Gatorade and ginger ale! How nice!  We helped him, and it was super hot so we were sweating buckets, but by the end of the service, the guys expressed so much gratitude!  He asked how he could repay us, and we said the sandwich and drinks were good enough!  He said that he could maybe attend church to repay us?  We told him that we would love to see him at church!  We were able to exchange numbers with this guy, and those elders are meeting with him soon!  How amazing!  This was a huge testament to me how Christlike service softens even the hardest of hearts!
On Saturday, we drove past a festival going on near the library, so we decided it was a really good opportunity to talk with a bunch of people.  We went and did just that!  We ran into a lady at one of the art booths named Lisa.  She was an awesome person!  Turns out her daughter in law is a member of the church, and we testified to her how The Book Of Mormon has brought so much peace and joy into our lives, and has helped us gain a stronger and firmer testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ.  She didn’t accept a copy because she told us she has two back at her house, but we invited her to read it and she said she would take a look!  She then went off to tell us how much she loved temple square and temples, along with Mormon settled towns, because of how clean they both are!  She said that it testifies to her that Mormons truly respect what God has given them.  I thought that was very cool!  We had the opportunity to testify to her that temples were truly the House of The a Lord!  It was really cool!
Last night was pretty crazy too!  We got a referral around 10:00, and it said we needed to call a member immediately up in South Dakota, so we did and he told us that a member of their ward was being life flighted down to Casper, and that she needed a blessing in the morning.  He told us that none of the bishops in the Casper would answer their phones, and that we were the only ones to answer so far!  So we were planning on giving her one this morning, but then he called back around 10:20 ish and said that he had a nagging feeling that we needed to go tonight and give her the blessing!  We knew that was the spirit telling him this, so we texted President McMurray to let him know that we would be out past 10:30 to give an emergency blessing at the hospital.  We went down the hospital, and had to wait for about 35 minutes, then the ladies family had us give her a blessing.  It was a very cool experience.  I’ve never had to go give a very late night blessing to someone in a hospital, it was very interesting.  We got back home at around 11:45, so it was a late night last night!  What a good feeling it was to be able to exercise our priesthood power when it was needed!
In my studies this past week I read Alma 36:24 which states,

24 Yea, and from that time even until now, I have labored without ceasing, that I might bring souls unto repentance; that I might bring them to taste of the exceeding joy of which I did taste; that they might also be born of God, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

Each of us who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints have experience and tasted “exceeding joy” through Repentance and baptism by someone holding proper authority from God.  It is our job and responsibility to help others, our fellow brothers and sisters, feel this immense joy that comes through the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His everlasting Atonement!  Each time we repent, each time we take the sacrament, we can feel this joy!!  What a blessing that our Heavenly Father has given us!!  Always remember that Repentance is Joy!  Satan wants us to think that Repentance is pain, hard, suffering, which it may seem it is like this when we have to confess a serious sin to a priesthood leader, but the end result is always Joy!  Help others feel that joy this week!  I hope you all have a great week! I love being a missionary, and I’m grateful for the support each of you gives me!

Love,
Elder Bailey

6/5/18 | The Lord Needs You!

What a week!  Sheesh, it absolutely flew by!!!
We had four investigators drop us within a two day span...... But a lady named Hannah accepted a copy of The Book Of Mormon!  We found her through Tracting, and she seemed to be going through a rough time.  We testified of the peace and the joy we’ve seen through The Book Of Mormon, and the gospel.  So we hope she gets a chance to read it this upcoming week!
We met a less active family, the Green’s, this past week!  We are trying to get to know all the members of the ward, because our bishop has asked us to, and their are a lot of part member families.  Anyways, Brother Green and I connected super well as we talked about hunting!  It was super cool!  We had a great conversation with them.  They told us why they don’t attend church, and they made it kinda clear they didn’t really have a desire to, but we let them know that they have an open invitation to attend church!  Brother Green seemed to like that, and we just invited them to attend.  Brother Green wants us to come back so he can show us his man cave, so that should be sweet!  Hopefully he feels Christlike love as we show him how much we care about them!  It was a great visit!
While we were weekly Planning at the Poplar church building, we had a little crazy surprise!  Someone started to pound on the window, so we turned around, and it was Sister Bertha! She saw our car, and thought it was the sisters, because she had driven that car when she served in Casper, so she came to say hi and found us.  It was fun to talk with her, because we came out together!  She filled us in on all of the past missionaries who are engaged and getting married so that was crazy to hear!  It was so crazy that she bumped into us.
We didn’t have a dinner last Friday night, so some other elders invited us to a BBQ their ward was having for the “Be One” priesthood devotional with President Nelson.  It was an absolutely incredible devotional!  I’ve never had a solid testimony of the revelation on the priesthood, but this devotional helped me gain a testimony of it!  What an amazing thing!  Wow!  The Spirit was so strong throughout the entire thing, and it was so cool to hear all of the testimonies of people who struggled with it.  I love Heavenly Father for granting all worthy male members of the church access to His priesthood authority and power and temple blessings!  What an eternal blessing that is to have these blessings from a loving Heavenly Father!  I love Him so much for these gifts He has grated us!
This past Saturday was our car fast day, where we strictly walk.  It was a really good day!  We walked a long ways, but we saw some really cool miracles from it!  The first amazing miracle started right before we left the apartment.  We had an “El Libro de Mormon” sitting on a dresser, and I as I looked at it, I knew that we needed to take it with us.  So we did, and didn’t think much of it.  Later that afternoon we were Tracting, and on the last house we had planned to tract, a Hispanic Lady was our in her yard.  We tried to talk with her, but she said from her bench she was sitting on, “No English!”  We responded, “El Libro de Mormon?” (Yeah, honestly I have retained absolutely zero Spanish from middle school..... but I can still ask “where is the bathroom” so that counts for something!)  She immediately came up to us, and we were able to pull out El Libro de Mormon, and give her that copy!  Amazing!  We wrote the Hermana’s number on a pass along card and gave it to her as well!  We are getting her address to them this week.  How awesome is that?!  She seemed genuinely interested as soon as we mentioned The Book Of Mormon to her.  The Book Of Mormon has power!  Later that day we were walking past a Family Dollar, and we ran into two women sitting outside on the curb.  We started talking to them, and turns out one of them was a less active member!  We talked with them, and the less active girls friend accepted a copy of The Book Of Mormon!  We got her number so we can follow up with her this week, so that was awesome!  We were walking on a little busier street, and a guy from across the street waived us to come over to the other side.  We found a gap and ran across to talk with him!  He was such a good guy!  His name was Patrick, and we had a really amazing conversation with him!  He talked to us about how much he respects us, and loves that we go around testifying of Jesus Christ!  He told us how every single Mormon he meets has a certain light about them.  We were able to testify to him that we have that light because we have been baptized by someone holding proper priesthood authority from God, and that we have the Gift of the Holy Ghost!  Elder Trumbo came in clutch and read 3 Nephi 11 and Ether 12:27 to him, and he loved it!  He accepted a copy of The Book Of Mormon, and said he would read it!  We had a return appointment with him at a local park, but he didn’t show up yesterday...... but we are hoping to get in contact with him this week!  Such an amazing day!  By the time we got home that night, our feet were dead, and we slept very good that night!  Haha, it was a great day!  I love walking around and talking with everyone!!
We were told a lady needs help moving, and were given her number by other missionaries.  We called her, and set up a time to help.  It was crazy...... haha.  (This happened yesterday.) We had four of us there helping the whole time, and many other elders throughout the day.  It was supposed to be a fast move, but when we showed up she had her whole house, boxes to the ceiling, packed with stuff!  We were helping her from 9:30-4:00..... we knew we weren’t supposed to do service for this long, but we couldn’t let this old lady do this by herself.  So we stuck it out to the end!  By the end, we were sunburned, tired, but we knew we helped this lady as Christ would have helped her!  Man that was tiring!  I never imagine I would’ve gotten sunburned from helping someone move!  Haha.
This past Sunday Sister Norman, a member from our ward, came up to us and told us that her husband is ready to learn more about the church!  How amazing is that!  She told us that she feels impressed that we are the right missionaries to teach him.... this made me so happy!  Heavenly Father is trusting us with this sacred opportunity to teach this man, and we can’t be more excited!  What a miracle!  We are going to coordinate lessons with members present at the church with them, so that should be so sweet!   Can’t wait!
In my studies this past week, I read Alma 28:14, which states:

14 And thus we see the great call of diligence of men to labor in the vineyards of the Lord; and thus we see the great reason of sorrow, and also of rejoicing--sorrow because of death and destruction among men, and joy because of the light of Christ unto life.

This is our call to be diligent laborers in the vineyard!  We are all called to labor in the Lord’s vineyard!  President Nelson just invited the youth in a super powerful devotional this past Sunday, to “enlist in the Youth battalion of the Lord!”  What a powerful statement!  I believe that this invitation is indeed for the youth of the church, but that we have all been called to labor in the Lord’s vineyard!  I would invite you all to think about how you can be a better laborer in the Lord’s vineyard!  He needs each of us to be fully committed, He needs you!!  I know that we will all strengthen out testimonies as we better minister to our fellow brothers and sisters.  I hope you all have a great week, I love you guys! :)

Love,
Elder Bailey
